The Challenge of Evaluating a CRM Without a Clear Framework
When we came onto this project, the sales organization was at an inflection point. Their CRM system had been in place long enough to create habits — but not long enough for anyone to step back and evaluate whether those habits were actually supporting sales performance. Deal visibility was inconsistent, workflows had grown patchy, and there was no structured method for identifying where the process was breaking down.
The stakes were real. Leadership wanted to make decisions about tooling, workflows, and team training — but without a proper diagnostic framework, those decisions would have been made on instinct rather than evidence.
Building the Evaluation from the Ground Up
Helion360 approached this in two stages. First, we conducted a detailed audit of the existing CRM workflows — tracing how opportunities moved through the pipeline, where data entry was inconsistent, and at what stages deals were most likely to stall. That groundwork gave us the substance we needed to move into the second phase: building the presentation itself.
We structured the deck to move logically from a current-state overview into a clear breakdown of pain points, followed by a phased optimization roadmap. Tool recommendations were contextualized against the team's actual usage patterns. Training priorities were tied directly to the workflow gaps we had identified, rather than offered as generic suggestions.
The visual design supported the narrative — each section was built to be scannable in a meeting room and detailed enough to hold up under scrutiny.
A Deliverable That Could Drive Real Decisions
The final presentation gave the client's leadership team something they did not previously have: a single, coherent document that captured both the diagnosis and the path forward. The roadmap section was prioritized so the sales team could begin taking action in the near term without waiting for a full system overhaul.
More importantly, the deck was built to stand on its own. Leadership could walk through it in an internal meeting without needing a separate explainer or supporting materials.
