The Research Challenge
The subscription meal kit and wellness CPG space is one of the most competitive and rapidly shifting categories in consumer markets. When this client came to us, they were trying to make a high-stakes strategic decision without a reliable view of the landscape — and the clock was already running.
They needed more than a broad overview. The research had to cover competitor positioning, real consumer behavior patterns, and category-level trends across meal kits, packaged goods, and wellness beverages — all within two weeks. That is a tight window for research of this depth, and cutting corners was not an option.
How We Approached It
Helion360 organized the work into three parallel tracks: a competitive landscape analysis, a consumer behavior deep-dive, and a trend mapping exercise across the health and wellness subscription category. We built these tracks to feed into each other rather than run independently, which meant our conclusions were cross-validated rather than siloed.
We pulled from industry reports, category sales data, consumer survey sources, and brand-level positioning audits. Our team analyzed subscription models at different price tiers, looked closely at what was driving both acquisition and churn, and identified which health and wellness signals were resonating most with core buyer groups.
Every insight was filtered through a single question: does this actually help the client make a better decision? That framing kept the research focused and prevented the report from becoming a data dump.
What We Delivered
The final report landed on time — complete, not compressed. It covered twelve major competitors in detail, defined three distinct consumer segments, and surfaced five high-confidence trends with clear strategic implications for each.
Beyond the full research document, we built a one-page executive summary that distilled the most critical findings for leadership-level conversations. The client could use the detailed comprehensive market analysis for internal analysis and the summary layer for boardroom or stakeholder discussions — two outputs, one coherent research effort.
