The Challenge Across Two Platforms
Managing product listings on Amazon and eBay simultaneously is more complex than it appears. Each platform has its own search algorithm, content requirements, and buyer expectations. For this client, the core problem was that their listings were not built with any of that in mind — they were generic, inconsistently structured, and effectively invisible to the buyers most likely to convert.
There was also an operational gap. Without a centralized database for product information, every update became a manual, error-prone task. Pricing inconsistencies, missing attributes, and outdated descriptions were common. The client needed both a stronger front-end presence and a more reliable back-end process.
How We Approached the Work
Helion360 started by conducting platform-specific keyword research for each product category. We identified the exact search terms buyers were using on Amazon and eBay separately, then built listing content — titles, descriptions, and product attributes — around those terms without sacrificing readability or accuracy.
We also structured everything around platform guidelines. Amazon and eBay have distinct rules about how content should be formatted and what triggers suppression or ranking penalties. Every listing we produced was built to comply with those standards from the start.
In parallel, we developed a centralized product database covering pricing, attributes, and review data. This gave the client's team a single source of truth for ongoing updates and made scaling the catalog a much more manageable task.
What the Work Delivered
Once the optimized listings went live, search performance improved noticeably across both platforms. Products that had been buried in category results began ranking on the first page for several high-intent keywords. Click-through rates increased, and the listings started converting at a higher rate than the originals.
The database infrastructure also changed how the team operated. What had previously required significant manual effort became a structured, repeatable workflow. The client could update or expand listings without starting from scratch each time.
