The Research Challenge Across Three Industries
Conducting market research across a single industry is demanding. Doing it across three simultaneously — each with its own regulatory structure, data sources, and market dynamics — requires a disciplined approach and genuine sector familiarity. That was the task when we were engaged to analyze the real estate, strata, and hospitality markets in New South Wales.
The client's need was specific: not a broad overview, but structured, decision-ready intelligence that reflected the realities of the NSW market. This meant understanding property value movements, the legal frameworks governing strata schemes, and the behavioral shifts reshaping hospitality — all at once, all under deadline.
How We Structured the Work
Helion360 approached this by building three parallel research tracks within a single unified framework. This allowed each sector to be analyzed on its own terms while keeping the outputs consistent in format and depth — important when findings would ultimately need to sit side by side for senior stakeholders.
For real estate and strata, we worked through government property records, NSW legislative databases, and transaction-level data to map current conditions and emerging trends. The strata component required particular attention to recent regulatory changes affecting how schemes are managed and how owners make decisions.
For hospitality, we focused on post-pandemic recovery patterns, occupancy and consumer spending data, and the competitive positioning of operators across accommodation and food service segments in NSW. The goal was to give the client clarity on where demand was heading and what the competitive field looked like today.
What the Research Delivered
All three research streams were synthesized into structured, executive-style reports. Each addressed market sizing, competitive dynamics, and consumer behavior — with clear data attribution throughout. The strata findings, in particular, surfaced legislative nuances that the client identified as directly relevant to a strategic review already underway.
The hospitality segment consolidated post-recovery demand data that had not previously been pulled together in one place for their team, giving them a cleaner picture than they had going in. Across all three sectors, the outputs were immediately usable — no additional analysis layer required.
