Challenge
We were brought in to conduct structured legal research across three distinct areas of US law — contract disputes, personal injury cases, and employment law. The scope required identifying relevant case law, extracting accurate citations, and producing concise summaries for each case, all within a tight one-week deadline.
The core difficulty was not just volume — it was precision. Legal research of this nature demands consistency in sourcing, proper citation formatting, and clarity in how each case connects to the relevant legal principle. Any disorganization in the output would undermine its practical value for paralegal use.
The client needed a final deliverable that was immediately usable — not a raw dump of links or notes, but a clean, organized dataset ready for professional reference and review.
Solution
We approached this engagement by dividing the research into three distinct workstreams — contract disputes, personal injury, and employment law — to ensure focused, accurate coverage across each area. Each workstream followed the same structured methodology: identify leading cases, verify citations against authoritative legal sources, and draft plain-language summaries that captured the legal significance of each ruling.
Helion360 built the final output as a formatted Excel file, with dedicated tabs for each legal category. Each row contained the case name, jurisdiction, citation, court level, year decided, and a concise summary of the holding and its relevance. This structure made the dataset easy to filter, sort, and reference without requiring the end user to parse raw legal text.
Throughout the process, we flagged cases with overlapping relevance — for example, employment disputes that also involved contractual obligations — and cross-referenced them appropriately to preserve context without duplicating entries.
Results
We delivered a complete, citation-accurate Excel database covering all three legal areas ahead of the client's one-week deadline. The file included organized tabs for contract disputes, personal injury cases, and employment law, each populated with verified case names, proper legal citations, court levels, and plain-language summaries.
Helion360 produced research entries across dozens of cases, all sourced from reliable legal databases and formatted to paralegal-ready standards. The client received a structured reference tool that required no further cleanup or reformatting before use.
The final deliverable gave the client an immediately actionable resource — organized, consistent, and thorough enough to support professional legal work without additional research effort on their end.
The Research Challenge
This project came to us with a clear but demanding scope: pull together verified US case law across three distinct legal areas — contract disputes, personal injury, and employment law — summarize each case accurately, and deliver everything organized in a structured Excel file within one week.
The challenge was not just coverage. Legal research at a professional standard requires precise citations, accurate attribution to the correct court and jurisdiction, and summaries that capture the legal holding without distorting the original ruling. Producing that kind of output across three separate legal domains — consistently, and at speed — required a disciplined approach from the start.
How We Structured the Work
Helion360 divided the project into three parallel workstreams, one for each legal area. This allowed us to go deep on each category rather than treating them as a single undifferentiated research task. For every case, we documented the case name, jurisdiction, court level, year of decision, legal citation, and a plain-language summary of the ruling and its relevance.
The final deliverable was a multi-tab Excel file — clean, filterable, and organized for immediate professional use. Each tab corresponded to one of the three legal areas, making it easy to navigate without any prior knowledge of how the research had been structured internally.
Where cases had cross-category relevance — for instance, employment matters with a significant contractual dimension — we noted those connections explicitly rather than forcing each entry into a single category.
What Was Delivered
The completed Excel database was delivered ahead of deadline and covered dozens of verified case entries across all three legal areas. Every citation was checked against authoritative legal sources. Every summary was written to be clear and accurate for paralegal-level use.
The client received a research tool they could immediately reference, filter, and build on — no reformatting required, no gaps to fill in. Our Business Research Services and Executive Style Research Reports approach informed how we structured the output to meet professional-grade standards.
