The work of deciding which numbers lead, which support, and which belong in an appendix is not a design decision — it is an editorial one, and it has to happen before a single slide is built.

A pie chart showing 11 segments, a bar chart with unlabeled axes, and a data table pasted directly from Excel are all signs that no one made a deliberate choice about how to present the information. A third common problem is color drift — the brand's primary blue drifts across slides because hex values were entered manually instead of being pulled from a defined theme. Fourth, the gap between a working draft and a presentation-ready deck is routinely underestimated.
