Feed a prompt into Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, or a similar tool and within minutes you have eight, ten, or twenty visual directions to evaluate. It feels like a shortcut — and in some ways it is.
But the output is not a logo. It is a raster image with fused shapes, blended edges, inconsistent line weights, and letterforms that no type foundry ever drew. For anything beyond a mood board, that raw output cannot be handed to a printer, applied to a business card, or dropped into a brand guidelines document. The moment you scale it, the cracks show.
The real work begins after generation. Cleaning up and vectorizing AI logo concepts is a discipline in its own right — one that requires both technical precision and a strong sense of what makes a logo function across contexts. Done well, it transforms a promising concept into a production-ready brand mark. Done poorly, it leaves a logo that looks fine on screen but falls apart in the real world.
What the Cleanup Process Actually Requires
