These values are not mathematically interchangeable — the CMYK and Pantone equivalents for a given hex color have to be visually matched under standard lighting (D50 or D65 illuminant), not just auto-converted.

But when the SVG is needed for an animated web header six months later, or the AI file is needed for a merchandise print run, the work has to be repeated from scratch — or worse, done badly from the exported PNG.
Finally, single-person review late in the process is unreliable. After hours of close work on a mark, the designer's eye stops detecting the very errors they introduced. A fresh review pass — ideally from someone who hasn't seen the file all day — catches alignment errors, color inconsistencies, and proportion issues that are otherwise invisible to the person who built the file.
