The client, a digital marketing startup, needed to connect with creators across fashion, beauty, apparel, and fitness who could genuinely represent their brand partners' identities, not just amplify their messaging to large audiences.
Each vertical operates on different content rhythms and audience expectations. A fitness creator's community responds to very different signals than a fashion or beauty audience does. Without a disciplined, category-aware approach, any influencer shortlist risks becoming a collection of high-follower accounts with low strategic value.
How We Structured the Research
We approached this as a research and analysis project, not a simple directory pull. Helion360 developed a tiered vetting framework that evaluated each creator across several dimensions: niche alignment, audience authenticity, engagement quality, platform presence, and content tone relative to each brand's positioning.
For each of the four verticals, we established category-specific criteria before any discovery work began. This ensured that fashion profiles were evaluated against fashion-relevant benchmarks, while fitness creators were screened through the lens of fitness audience behavior — preventing cross-contamination of standards that would otherwise dilute the quality of results.
Discovery ran across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, using a combination of platform-native search, hashtag mapping, and competitor audience analysis to surface profiles that organic searches might miss.
What the Deliverable Looked Like
The final output was a structured, segmented influencer database organized by vertical, platform, and creator tier. Each entry included engagement metrics, content observations, and a written rationale explaining why the profile was flagged as a brand-fit candidate. The format was built for direct use — the client's team could begin outreach without needing to reprocess or reformat any of the data.
Beyond the immediate deliverable, we documented the research criteria and methodology so the client could apply the same framework to future discovery cycles independently.
