A forward-thinking university needed a compelling recruiting video to attract prospective students and communicate the energy of its campus environment. The ask was ambitious: produce animated sequences that authentically captured academic facilities, student life, and the spirit of the campus community — all while ensuring the final product performed seamlessly across both digital platforms and traditional broadcast media. Our Approach
Helion360 began with a thorough review of the university's brand guidelines, existing visual assets, and the overarching storyboard developed by the video director. Rather than treating each animated segment as an isolated asset, the team approached the project as a cohesive narrative — mapping each motion sequence to a specific storytelling beat within the broader recruiting message. Custom 2D character animations and environmental illustrations were developed in Adobe Illustrator and brought to life through frame-by-frame animation and motion layering in Adobe After Effects. Close collaboration with the production team ensured every asset was timed and formatted correctly for integration into the final edited video, with export specifications optimized for both web streaming and high-resolution broadcast delivery. Attention was given to fluid transitions, consistent visual language, and motion principles that kept the energy high without overwhelming the viewer.
The Outcome
The final deliverable was a polished suite of 2D animated sequences fully integrated into the university's recruiting video, covering key campus themes including academic excellence, student community, and campus culture. Each animated segment maintained visual consistency across the full runtime and was delivered in multiple formats to support online distribution and on-campus screening. The video gave the university a distinctive, high-quality asset that stood apart from conventional recruiting materials — one that communicated institutional ambition through design as much as through words.
