An independent filmmaker came to us mid-production on a short film that demanded a level of visual sophistication rarely seen outside of larger studio budgets. Our Approach
Helion360 assigned a specialist team with combined expertise in Blender, Autodesk Maya, and Adobe After Effects to take ownership of the entire motion and animation pipeline. The team began with a thorough review of the existing footage and the filmmaker's creative brief to ensure every animated element was designed to serve the story rather than overshadow it. Animated transitions between scenes were crafted to feel organic and intentional, using layered compositing techniques to blend CGI seamlessly with live footage. Character and object animations were built in Blender and Maya with careful attention to movement weight and timing, while lighting passes were refined to match the tone and colour palette of each scene. Motion graphics sequences — including title cards and stylised informational overlays — were designed in After Effects and integrated with precision throughout the edit.
The Outcome
The final deliverable was a fully post-produced short film featuring fluid 3D animated transitions, seamlessly composited visual effects, animated character sequences, and purpose-built motion graphics — all unified under a consistent visual language. The filmmaker received a production-quality result that elevated the indie project to a standard competitive with professionally produced festival shorts. Every animated sequence was rendered and exported at broadcast-ready resolution, ready for submission to film festivals and digital distribution platforms.
