The Challenge
A New York-based educational software startup was at a pivotal growth stage and needed compelling animated content to elevate its user experience and drive deeper platform engagement. The challenge was multifaceted: the team required a range of motion deliverables — from full explainer animations to subtle UI micro-interactions — all of which had to feel cohesive, educationally appropriate, and visually exciting for a tech-savvy audience. With a fast-paced internal environment, tight creative timelines, and a product still actively being developed, there was little room for misalignment between design and functionality. The content also needed to strike the right balance between engaging enough to capture attention and clear enough to support the platform's instructional goals.
Our Approach
Helion360 embedded into the startup's creative workflow, working directly alongside project managers and the internal team to understand both the product vision and the end-user journey. The team began by mapping out the animation needs across the platform — identifying where explainer videos were needed to onboard new users, where motion graphics could reinforce key concepts, and where micro-interactions could improve interface responsiveness and delight. Production was handled primarily in Adobe After Effects, with additional tooling used where complex 3D or character elements required it. Each animation was built to spec for the platform's UI, ensuring smooth integration without disrupting load performance. Revisions were managed iteratively, with regular checkpoints to keep creative output aligned with product direction and deadlines.
The Outcome
The engagement delivered a complete suite of animated graphics assets covering explainer video sequences, branded motion graphics, and a series of micro-interactions embedded across the platform's core user flows. The animations brought the software's educational content to life in a way that static design alone could not achieve, making complex concepts more accessible and the overall experience more intuitive and enjoyable for learners. The startup received production-ready files optimized for their platform environment, along with organized asset libraries that allowed their internal team to scale and reuse components going forward.
Helion360 continues to support growing startups and EdTech platforms that need motion design work done with precision, speed, and a clear understanding of user experience principles.
