The Challenge
A women's apparel manufacturing company supplying major US retailers needed a reliable, full-stack design partner capable of building and scaling an entire product line — from concept through production-ready specs. The challenge was not simply aesthetic. The design work had to serve multiple downstream stakeholders simultaneously: factories needed technically accurate construction details for costing, and retail buyers needed polished, presentation-ready visuals to make purchase decisions. The product range was broad, spanning joggers, hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, puffer jackets, leggings, and shorts. Each category required a nuanced understanding of garment construction, retail market expectations, and the ability to iterate quickly from loosely defined inspiration references. Finding a single design partner who could handle both the creative and technical dimensions of this pipeline — at the pace a retail-facing manufacturer demands — was the core complexity.
Our Approach
Helion360 embedded into the client's existing design workflow as a dedicated creative extension of their team. The process began with each product brief: the client's internal team shared inspiration imagery and directional references, and the design team developed multiple styled iterations per garment, allowing for informed internal selection before anything went to factory or buyer. Each iteration balanced commercial appeal with manufacturing feasibility, ensuring that the designs were not just visually compelling but actionable. Once styles were shortlisted and costed by factories, the work shifted into technical execution — producing detailed tech packs and spec sheets for every retail-selected style, structured to meet production standards. Throughout, the team maintained a consistent design language across categories, giving the product line coherence across the full range without sacrificing individuality at the style level.
The Outcome
The engagement delivered a scalable creative pipeline that moved seamlessly from inspiration to retail presentation to production documentation. Multiple garment styles across seven product categories were designed, iterated, and spec'd for manufacturing. Retailers received design packages ready for buying consideration, and factory-bound styles were accompanied by complete technical documentation to eliminate ambiguity in the production process. The client gained a reliable design partner capable of operating at the pace and precision that major retail channels demand — reducing revision cycles, accelerating time-to-buyer, and ensuring that every style that reached the factory floor was built on a clear, accurate foundation.
