The Challenge
A growth-stage startup with an unconventional personality came to us with a clear ambition but a fragmented visual identity. They had an existing logo but no system around it — no consistent graphic language, no platform-ready assets, and no custom iconography to tie their brand together. The ask was ambitious: take their logo as a starting point and expand it into six distinct graphic designs suitable for use across marketing materials, social media, and physical merchandise, while also developing a set of custom icons that would complement the broader visual direction. The added complexity was tonal — this brand had a quirky, forward-leaning personality that needed to come through without feeling chaotic or unpolished. Balancing creative boldness with visual consistency across multiple use cases is rarely straightforward, especially for early-stage companies still discovering who they are.
Our Approach
Helion360 began by conducting a focused brand personality audit, reviewing the startup's existing logo, any reference materials they provided, and their stated aesthetic sensibilities to establish a clear creative direction before a single graphic was produced. From there, the team developed a unified visual language — a defined palette, typographic mood, and illustrative style — that would serve as the backbone for all deliverables. Six graphic design variants were created from the logo foundation, each adapted for a specific platform or use context while maintaining visual coherence across the set. Alongside those, a suite of custom icons was designed to align with the brand's personality, giving the startup a reusable visual vocabulary they could apply well beyond the initial scope. Each round of work was presented with context explaining the creative rationale, ensuring the client understood not just what was delivered, but why each decision served their brand.
The Outcome
The startup received a complete and production-ready visual identity system: six platform-optimised graphic designs derived from their core logo, alongside a set of custom icons built to extend the brand's visual language consistently across touchpoints. The deliverables gave the team ready-to-use assets for social media content, marketing campaigns, and merchandise — without needing to brief a new designer each time a new channel or format came up. More importantly, the project gave the brand a coherent visual identity it could grow into, rather than a one-off set of graphics that would quickly feel disconnected.
