The Challenge
A company leader had drafted a detailed Letter of Intent addressed to staff, outlining the organization's upcoming Facilities Improvement Plans. While the content was substantive and purposeful, it read and looked like a standard corporate memo — plain text, no visual hierarchy, and no imagery to break up the density. The client wanted the document to feel more engaging, almost editorial in tone and layout, so that staff would not just receive it but actually read it. The challenge was to elevate a functional internal communication into something that felt polished, visually considered, and worthy of the message it carried — without losing the professional authority the subject required.
Our Approach
Helion360 approached this as both a design and editorial challenge. The team began by reviewing the letter's structure and identifying natural visual breakpoints where imagery, callouts, or graphic elements could be introduced without disrupting the narrative flow. A magazine-inspired layout was developed that used section headers, curated imagery relevant to facilities and workplace environments, and typographic hierarchy to guide the reader's eye through the content. Design choices were made to complement the corporate context — the result needed to feel elevated and intentional, not decorative for its own sake. The final document balanced professionalism with visual warmth, making it appropriate for internal distribution to a diverse staff audience.
The Outcome
The delivered document was a fully redesigned, magazine-style version of the original Letter of Intent — print and digital ready, complete with supporting imagery, styled headers, and a clean layout that transformed what had been a dense text document into a compelling staff communication piece. The client received a document that not only communicated the Facilities Improvement Plans clearly but did so in a way that signalled care, investment, and organizational pride. The redesign gave the communication the visual weight it deserved, making it far more likely to be read, retained, and positively received by staff.
