The Challenge
An early-stage startup founder came to us with a clear vision but a presentation problem: a handful of rough, hand-drawn sketches that needed to become a polished, investor-ready pitch deck — fast. The sketches covered three critical components: a logo concept, a business model canvas, and a key metrics slide. While the underlying ideas were sound, the raw materials were far from presentation-ready. The challenge was not simply aesthetic — it required interpreting ambiguous visual concepts, extracting the strategic intent behind each sketch, and rebuilding everything from the ground up within a tight three-day window. The client needed designs that were clean, simple, and visually compelling enough to command attention in a competitive funding environment.
Our Approach
Helion360 approached this project as both a design and a communication challenge. The process followed a structured, rapid-turnaround workflow:
- Sketch Analysis & Briefing: Each rough sketch was reviewed in detail to understand the founder's intent, ensuring the final designs stayed true to the original concept while dramatically elevating quality.
- Logo Refinement: The hand-drawn logo idea was translated into a crisp, scalable vector mark with a cohesive color palette and typography that reflected the startup's identity.
- Business Model Canvas Design: The canvas was restructured into a visually organized, easy-to-scan layout — using iconography, color-coded sections, and clear hierarchy to make a complex framework immediately legible.
- Key Metrics Slide: Raw data points were transformed into a high-impact metrics slide using bold typography, data visualization elements, and purposeful whitespace to ensure numbers landed with clarity and weight.
- Consistency & Polish: All three deliverables were unified under a single visual system — consistent fonts, colors, and layout principles — so the deck read as a cohesive professional document rather than a collection of isolated slides.
The Outcome
Within the agreed three-day timeline, the client received three fully designed, presentation-ready assets: a refined logo, a structured business model canvas slide, and a high-impact key metrics slide — all built from scratch using their original sketches as a creative brief. The transformation from rough concept to investor-grade design gave the founder a credible, visually confident presentation to bring into early funding conversations. The work also established a foundational visual identity and design language that could be extended across future slides and materials as the startup continues to grow.
