The Challenge
Pack Animals Hub, a rapidly growing creative agency based in San Ramon, California, needed professional photography of their printed graphic artwork captured directly at their hub location. The challenge was not simply technical — it was contextual. The agency's workspace is a modern, high-tech environment where lighting conditions shift dynamically throughout the day, causing surfaces, colors, and textures to change in unpredictable ways. Photographing graphic design work in this setting demands more than a competent shooter; it requires someone who understands how printed materials interact with ambient and studio light, how to manage reflections on coated surfaces, and how to preserve the integrity of colors that designers spent hours perfecting. Any inconsistency between the actual printed output and its photographic representation would undermine the agency's portfolio credibility.
Our Approach
Helion360 approached this project with a structured on-location production plan tailored to the realities of Pack Animals Hub's workspace. The team conducted an initial lighting assessment of the hub environment before any shooting began, mapping out areas where natural light interfered with color accuracy and identifying optimal shooting windows throughout the day. Studio lighting rigs were configured specifically for flat-lay and angled graphic artwork photography, minimizing glare on printed surfaces while retaining the vibrancy and contrast that defined each piece. Backgrounds were selected and adjusted to complement the agency's brand aesthetic rather than compete with it. Throughout the session, the photography team worked in close collaboration with Pack Animals Hub's designers to ensure that each shot reflected the creative intent behind the original artwork — not just its physical appearance. Multiple rounds of composition adjustments were made in real time to ensure consistency across the full collection of printed materials.
The Outcome
The engagement produced a complete set of professional, portfolio-ready photographs of Pack Animals Hub's printed graphic artwork, all captured at their San Ramon location. Each image accurately represented the color fidelity, texture, and detail of the original printed pieces, giving the agency photography assets they could confidently use across their portfolio, client pitches, and marketing materials. The consistency achieved across varying lighting conditions throughout the shoot day ensured the final image library felt cohesive rather than piecemeal — a critical quality standard for a design agency presenting creative work to prospective clients.
Helion360 brings the same level of preparation and craft to every visual production engagement, ensuring that what gets delivered is not just technically correct, but strategically useful for the client's brand and business goals.
