The Challenge
The client came to us with an unusual but genuinely compelling brief: create a series of social media graphics that teach fundamental accounting principles to children. The challenge was not simply illustrative — it required a rare combination of financial literacy and child-centred communication design. Abstract concepts like assets, liabilities, income, and expenses needed to be translated into relatable, age-appropriate stories and visual scenarios that young audiences could actually absorb. On top of that, the graphics had to perform as social content — meaning they needed to stop the scroll, communicate value immediately, and be shareable across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Balancing educational integrity with playful, engaging design made this one of the more layered creative briefs we have taken on.
Our Approach
Helion360 began by mapping the core accounting concepts the client wanted to cover and structuring them into a digestible content series. Each topic was reframed through a child-friendly narrative — for example, explaining balance sheets through a piggy bank split between savings and spending, or illustrating revenue and expenses using a lemonade stand scenario. Visual language was kept bold, colourful, and character-driven, with clear typographic hierarchy that allowed even young readers to follow along without parental explanation. Every graphic was designed to work natively across multiple aspect ratios — square for Instagram, landscape for Facebook and Twitter — ensuring the series maintained visual consistency across platforms. Subject-matter grounding in basic accounting principles was applied throughout to ensure accuracy, even as the delivery remained light, fun, and approachable.
The Outcome
The project delivered a cohesive series of social media graphics covering multiple accounting fundamentals, each tailored for platform-specific formats and optimised for engagement and shareability. The final assets gave the client a ready-to-publish content library that could be rolled out progressively across their social channels — building an educational brand voice that stood out in the crowded children's learning content space. The graphics were colourful, curriculum-aligned, and designed to encourage interaction, making financial literacy genuinely accessible for younger audiences.
