The Challenge
A San Francisco-based e-commerce startup had a compelling mission — connecting local artisans with conscious consumers — but no visual language to express it. The company was early-stage and needed to establish its entire brand identity from scratch, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and craftsmanship. The challenge went beyond designing a logo. The team needed a cohesive visual system that could scale with the business, maintain consistency across all future design touchpoints, and communicate a values-driven ethos without feeling heavy-handed or generic. Getting this balance right required both strategic thinking and refined design execution.
Our Approach
Helion360 began with a discovery phase, working closely with the founding team to understand their mission, target audience, and long-term brand vision. The sustainability and artisan-first positioning shaped every design decision that followed. The logo was developed to reflect handcrafted authenticity and environmental mindfulness — using organic forms, a considered color palette drawn from natural tones, and typography that balanced warmth with modernity. Once the core mark was established, a comprehensive brand guidelines document was produced to codify how the brand should look and feel across every application — covering logo usage, color systems, typography hierarchy, spacing rules, and tone of voice guidance. Finally, a professional email signature was designed to encapsulate the company's values in a compact, polished format that could be deployed consistently across the entire team.
The Outcome
The startup received a complete, production-ready brand identity system: a primary logo with alternate variants, a full set of brand guidelines designed for everyday internal use and external vendor briefings, and a branded email signature ready for immediate deployment. The visual identity successfully conveyed the company's commitment to sustainability and local craftsmanship — giving the team a confident, consistent face to present to artisan partners, investors, and consumers alike. The brand guidelines in particular ensured that all future design work — whether handled in-house or by external collaborators — would remain on-brand without the need for constant design oversight.
Helion360 works with early-stage companies that need to establish a strong visual foundation before they scale — turning a founding team's values into a brand that can stand on its own.
