The Challenge
An emerging eco-friendly technology startup came to us at a pivotal moment — they had a clear mission and a compelling product vision, but no cohesive visual language to support it. The brand needed to communicate sustainability, innovation, and credibility all at once, without falling into the clichéd green-leaf aesthetic so common in the eco space. The challenge was not just to design something that looked good, but to craft a complete visual identity system — one that could scale across digital products, pitch decks, marketing collateral, and social media — while staying true to a values-driven brand position. Every typographic decision, color choice, and icon style had to feel intentional and differentiated in a crowded market.
Our Approach
Helion360 approached this as a systems design problem, not a surface-level styling exercise. The work began with a deep discovery phase to understand the startup's positioning, target audience, and competitive landscape. From there, the team established a typographic foundation — selecting a primary typeface and defining a structured typescale that maintained visual hierarchy across all touchpoints. A secondary typeface was chosen to complement the primary at body-copy scale, ensuring readability without sacrificing personality.
The color system was developed around a refined eco-tech palette — moving beyond predictable greens toward a more nuanced set of hues that balanced warmth, trust, and forward-thinking energy. Each color was assigned a specific functional role, from primary brand expressions to backgrounds, accents, and UI states. Alongside this, the team curated an icon style guide and image direction framework that defined exactly what kind of photography, illustration, and iconography would feel native to the brand. All elements were documented with precise usage rules, making the system immediately usable by any future designer or developer on the team.
The Outcome
The result was a fully documented visual identity system delivered as a comprehensive brand kit — covering typescale specifications, a structured color palette with hex, RGB, and CMYK values, a custom icon style direction, image selection principles, and usage examples across key application contexts. The startup received a visual language that was distinctive, scalable, and purpose-built for both digital and print environments. With this foundation in place, the team could move confidently into product design, investor decks, and marketing execution without needing to reinvent the wheel at every stage.
Helion360 continues to support startups and growth-stage companies in building brand systems that are both visually compelling and practically deployable — not just beautiful, but built to last.
