The Challenge
A small startup approached us needing two distinct logo marks designed specifically for embroidered hat patches — a deceptively nuanced brief. The challenge was not simply designing two logos, but creating two visually separate brand expressions that still felt like they belonged to the same company ecosystem. The first mark needed to project boldness and forward momentum, working equally well on white and black backgrounds. The second needed to communicate heritage, sustainability, and community without feeling heavy or dated. Both had to be engineered for real-world versatility — scaling cleanly from a hat patch down to a sticker, a t-shirt print, or a piece of branded merchandise — while retaining sharpness and identity at every size.
Our Approach
Helion360 began with a brand direction exercise to clearly define the tonal and visual distance between the two marks before a single line was drawn. For the first logo, the team pursued a clean, geometric approach — sharp angles and confident negative space that communicated innovation without relying on overused tech clichés. For the second, the design leaned into structured typography and organic form references evoking rootedness and longevity, kept restrained enough for darker fabric backgrounds. Both marks were built in vector from the ground up, with each element tested for legibility at embroidery-relevant scales. Color swatches were defined across both light and dark context variants, and mockups were produced showing each logo applied directly to hat patch formats so the client could visualize the finished product before committing to production.
The Outcome
The project delivered two complete logo marks — each with its own visual language, background variants, and color palette — packaged as high-resolution EPS and PNG files ready for embroidery vendors, print houses, and digital use. Hat patch mockups were included alongside the asset delivery, giving the client a clear production-ready reference. The dual-logo system gave the startup a flexible brand toolkit that can extend naturally across merchandise, packaging, and digital touchpoints as the business grows.
Helion360 works with founders and startups that need brand assets built properly from the start — designed for how they will actually be used, not just how they look on a screen.
