The Challenge
A growing marketing and communications startup needed a logo that could do more than just look good — it had to work everywhere. From website headers and social media profile icons to business cards and promotional materials, the mark needed to scale gracefully, adapt to varied contexts, and communicate the brand's core values of simplicity, creativity, and professionalism all at once. The added complexity was that this was a brand-new business without an established visual identity, meaning every design decision had to be grounded in strategic intent rather than iteration on existing assets. The client also wanted multiple concept directions explored before committing to a final direction, which required both breadth of creative thinking and depth of rationale behind each approach.
Our Approach
Helion360 began by mapping the startup's positioning within the digital marketing space — understanding its target audience, competitive landscape, and the tone it wanted to project. Rather than jumping to execution, the team developed three distinct concept directions, each grounded in a different visual language. The first concept leaned into geometric abstraction to suggest precision and forward motion. The second explored typographic minimalism, using a custom wordmark that embedded a subtle visual metaphor tied to communication and connectivity. The third direction balanced both, pairing a clean icon with a refined sans-serif logotype for maximum versatility. Each concept was accompanied by a written rationale explaining the design choices and how they mapped back to the brand's identity. All concepts were delivered as scalable vector files, ensuring sharpness and consistency at any size.
The Outcome
The client received three fully developed logo concepts with detailed design rationale, presented across mockups showing real-world application — including business cards, social media headers, and website placements. The final chosen direction was a clean geometric mark paired with a modern wordmark, optimised for both full-colour and monochrome use. Final deliverables included vector source files, PNG exports at multiple resolutions, and a compact usage guide outlining spacing, colour values, and do's and don'ts for brand consistency. The result was a logo identity the startup could deploy immediately and confidently across all its touchpoints.
