Project Overview
This project involved full-cycle audio engineering for a New York City-based music producer working on an original album. The scope covered four technically demanding disciplines: natural-sounding pitch correction, multi-track mixing, professional mastering, and precision beat looping. The goal was to deliver a polished, streaming-ready album without sacrificing the raw energy that defines the producer's sound.
The Challenge
The producer came to us with raw vocal recordings, layered instrumentals, and rhythm tracks that needed significant refinement before the album could be considered release-ready. The main technical obstacles were threefold. First, the vocals required transparent pitch correction — corrections that would be imperceptible to the listener yet tonally accurate across every track. Second, the mixing needed to balance a dense arrangement of elements without losing clarity in the low end or creating frequency clashes. Third, the beat loops had to be tightened and polished while retaining the original groove and character the producer had crafted.
Timeline pressure added another layer of complexity. Multiple tracks needed to be processed simultaneously without any single element receiving less attention than the others.
Our Approach
At Helion360, we structured the workflow to allow parallel processing across tracks. We used Pro Tools for the core session management and precision editing, with Ableton Live deployed for beat loop refinement and rhythmic alignment. Pitch correction was handled with a track-by-track approach, applying subtle, note-level adjustments tuned to the natural phrasing of each vocal performance rather than applying blanket correction.
For mixing, we built gain structures from the ground up, addressed low-mid buildup in the arrangement, and created headroom that made the mastering stage cleaner and more controlled. Beat loops were re-sequenced where necessary to ensure they locked to the grid without sounding mechanical.
Delivery and Final Output
Mastering was completed using industry-standard loudness targets aligned with major streaming platforms. Each track was delivered in both streaming and high-resolution formats. Helion360 completed the full project within the agreed turnaround window, processing all tracks concurrently without revision requests on the core engineering decisions. The final album achieved a cohesive sonic identity across all tracks — consistent in tone, dynamics, and energy from start to finish.
