Project Overview
When a technology company approached us with a complex 75-slide PowerPoint presentation filled with charts, graphs, and data tables, they needed more than just a simple file conversion. They required a complete transformation from PowerPoint to Google Slides while maintaining full chart editability and creating an interactive dashboard experience for their stakeholders.
The Challenge
The original presentation contained approximately 50 editable charts created in Excel, along with 25 data tables and supporting slides. The client needed to migrate their entire data visualization system to Google Workspace while preserving the ability to update charts dynamically. Simply copying and pasting would have resulted in static images, defeating the purpose of having an interactive presentation.
Our Approach
Helion360 developed a systematic methodology to handle this PowerPoint to Google Slides conversion. We began by extracting each chart from the original Excel files, analyzing the underlying data structures, and mapping them to equivalent Google Sheets formulations. Our team recreated every visualization in Google Sheets, ensuring data integrity and maintaining the same visual hierarchy and design principles.
Implementation Process
We methodically recreated each chart in Google Sheets, preserving the original formatting, color schemes, and data relationships. The conversion process involved rebuilding approximately 50 charts with their underlying data sources, then importing them into Google Slides as linked objects. This approach ensured that any updates to the source data in Google Sheets would automatically refresh in the presentation.
Our team also optimized the slide layouts for Google Slides' interface, adjusting spacing, fonts, and visual elements to maintain professional presentation standards while leveraging Google's collaborative features.
Results and Impact
The final Google Slides presentation maintained complete chart editability while introducing real-time collaboration capabilities that weren't possible in the original PowerPoint format. All 75 slides were successfully converted with enhanced interactivity and seamless integration with the client's Google Workspace environment.
